During the early punching of the FUE it became obvious because of his skin and hair characteristics FUE was not ideal for him, smaller than average groups of FU combined with finer hair and difficult skin texture could mean if FUE was continued transection would have increased beyond what we feel is acceptable. It was considered and after discussion with the patient and going over his goals and what priorities he had that a larger strip procedure would be the best option.
For the patient his priorities were

    1. Crown 2. Hair Line 3. Close Peripherals

    On recommendation from the doctor

    1. Crown 2. Close Peripherals 3. Hair Line

The patient had fine hair quality , slightly lower than average hair density in the donor, smaller hair groups per FU than average; large surface area to cover with many priorities set by the patient with limited donor.

Because of his hair groups and skin character FUE was not going to be suitable to harvest without transection increasing and low density because of small groups.

Because of the surface area and the patient priorities it would be impossible to deliver on all three areas and maintain a natural cosmetic result and high yield.
