With so many people being heard of going ahead with BHT, there is need for more photographic documentation on part of us doctors to prove conclusively the course that body hair will take once they are transplanted on the scalp.
Unless that is done,BHT will not be considered mainstream.
Having a couple of score patients results documented conclusively is desirable.
With this in mind, we have worked on some patients, (with their consent),transplanting body hair in well demarcated portions of the bald scalp.The exact no. of grafts, pics immediately post-op and then at 1-2 month intervals are being compiled.
In none of the cases have the body hair grafts been mixed with scalp hair grafts.
We have noted good degree of graft survival and some of the hair at 5 months have grown as long as they were on chest.
It is still early to say whether all cases will show hair taking on scalp hair characteristics.
We are as eagerly awaiting for the final results as our patients.
