    echo what Buk said.
Several of my FUE patients had hair growing from surgery which just stopped, but never fell out, only to start growing again a few months later. I have no explanation for this and I have not seen this phenomenon in strip procedures.

    poi continua

    Trans,
I like your term "stall" for FUE. It describes the situation well.
Further dissecting FUEs should not make any difference. After all, it is nothing more than what is done during stand strip procedures.

All FUE grafts should be analyzed and dissected because what is thought to be a single hair FU may actually turn out to be double with one hair in telogen. Happens all the time in strip surgery, so why not FUE. Easy way to know is to simply look. That's why I put all my grafts through a "refinement stage". One technician is assigned this task and that's all she does that day. This lets us make sure all the grafts are intact (I will NOT plant any without bulbs) and trimmed properly to reduce foreign body reactions.

You never really look for any kind of particular graft because you can't really tell what kind of graft you are dealing with until it is extracted.
What looks like a one hair may actually be a two hair graft. What looks like a two hair may actually be two true one hair fu's just existing the same opening together.

Cutting grafts down to singles is OK IF and ONLY IF you are really dealing with 2 separate FUs that are just close together. There is a difference between this type of grouping and splitting a graft out of a true 2 or 3 hair fu. Cutting true 3 hair FUs down to 3 single fus is probably a bad idea.
